ANCORA UNA SORPRESA DA BARATTI: ABBIAMO UN NOME PER L'ETRUSCO SCOPERTO A BARATTI! (in english below)

Only two weeks past since the discovery of the Etruscan burial of the end of the 4th century BC on the beach of Baratti and a very important surprise emerges from the cleaning of a black paint jar of the splendid funeral kit. On the bottom of the little jar, a graffitied epigraph reveals the name of our Etruscan: MI P (E) TRUS, “I belong to Petru”. An exceptional discovery: we now know much more about the owner of this tomb since his name is attested in Chiusi, Cortona and Orvieto area between the fifth and first centuries BC. As soon as University of Pisa Institute of Paleopathology gives us the results on the anthropological study on the bones of Petru, we will be able to really write a story of our ancestor very close to reality.
